Oxford Networks Featured in National Energy Efficiency Report
The Environment America Research & Policy Center released a report earlier this month showing that curbing carbon pollution can reduce the risk of global warming, save businesses money, and benefit communities at the same time. Oxford Networks was one of the businesses profiled, and was the only Maine company featured.
The Data Center hosted a press event for the state chapter of Environment America, Environment Maine. The story was covered in a front-page story in the Brunswick Time Record.
The report, Carbon-Cutting Success Stories, looks at how businesses, cities and institutions in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic states are embracing clean energy as a way to create new opportunities and to save money. The report presents seven stories, ranging from a winery to a hospital to a low-income housing project – all of which are affected by global warming and have benefited in several ways by cutting carbon pollution.
The report detailed how Oxford Networks used incentives from Efficiency Maine, using funding from the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative, to purchase state-of-the-art, energy-efficient HVAC equipment in the data center. The equipment is expected to save Oxford Networks $3,000 to $5,000 annually in electricity costs.
