Oxford Networks has constructed an extremely robust fiber optic network designed to meet the transport needs of carriers throughout New England.
We work hard to build redundancy and diversity into our network infrastructure with the goal of eliminating network interruptions. To achieve that goal, we pay very close attention to the three core elements of building and operating a transport network:
- Fiber Route Diversity: Oxford Networks has a fully ringed optical network from Boston, MA to Bangor, ME. This network includes numerous strategic POPs and Central Offices throughout this footprint.
- Equipment Reliability/Redundancy: Our DWDM and SONET networks are built on the highly reliable Cisco platform. Our DWDM and SONET shelves are implemented with redundant processors, power supplies, network cards and line side cards. Generator backup is standard at all POP and Central Office locations.
- Technical Team: Our team of technicians and engineers have decades of experience building and supporting networks for a diverse cross section of carriers and telephone companies. Our provisioning and implementation teams are prepared to provide prompt circuit turn-ups. In many cases on-net services can be delivered within 48-72 hours.
- Customized Solutions. Oxford Networks provides customized solutions for our carrier customers. These solutions may include new fiber builds, as well as installing new optical nodes. Our company philosophy is to continue increasing our fiber footprint through strategic and customer specific builds.
